Cortical IOM Electrode DIXI 1X4 Contacts TP
Each box contains 1 sterile single use electrode.
Cortex electrodes references C10-nnXIOM (where nn is the number of contacts and X represents the number of contacts per strip). These electrodes, comprising between 4 and 16 stainless steel contacts, with a usable diameter of 4 mm (shouldered contacts) may be used only for intraoperative mapping for brain surgery. They have a connection allowing them to be connected directly to recording / stimulation equipment (cable 1.8 m long with female plugs diameter 1.5 mm to comply with standard DIN 42802). The electrical resistance between a contact and the electrode connector is around 500 Ω; the insulation resistance between two contacts is more than 500 MΩ under 500 V. Cortex electrodes are available in the form of “strips” or “grids”. The grids are pre-cut into strips of 4, 6 or 8 contacts, thus the neurosurgeon is completely free to choose the configuration best suited to the patient. The electrode contacts are numbered to facilitate intraoperative exploration. The materials in contact with the patient are silicone and, depending on the specific cortex electrode used, either platinum/iridium or stainless steel.
